Breast surgery – for aesthetic breasts
Breast Enhancement (Augmentation)
Many women who always had very small breasts or experienced a loss in both breast volume and youthful shape after pregnancy and breast feeding want to have or regain full and aesthetically pleasing breasts. Breast augmentation is a very common and popular procedure for this, which can significantly improve both your body-image and self-confidence. You always should decide in favor of an augmentation because of your own ideas and rather not because mass media or your partner wants you to have it done. There are several options:
Silicone breast implants
Breast augmentation can be performed in several ways and will be individually adapted to your needs. In our presurgical consultations we will discuss the various options to achieve the shape and size of the breast mound you wish to have, the operative access routes to insert the implant (i.e. in the submammary fold or around the areola), the type of the implant (round or anatomically shaped, textured or smooth) and the position of the implant in relation to the large breast muscle (above or underneath). I exclusively use certified implants of the leading brands with the highest safety and widest choice. All these implants are made of modern medical grade non-liquid cohesive silicon gels.
Fat Injection (Lipofilling)
If you are satisfied with the general shape of your breast and have only a small enhancement of size and firmness in mind, injection of autologous fat from your own body might me a good option. The fat is harvested in a special gentle and careful way by liposuction from the classical “problem zones” (i.e. abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, etc.). After that, it is reinjected into the breast in several layers after purification to allow reintegration in the tissue and to achieve the increase in volume and elasticity. Typically, a certain percentage of this fat will disappear again, so 1-3 additional injections with less volume are common to achieve the final result. A recent mammogram or at least ultrasound diagnostics of the breast is a necessary predicament before surgery.
Both ways to enhance or augment your breasts are performed under general anesthesia and an inpatient stay for about one night. You´ll have to wear a special bra for 6 weeks which helps in shaping and reduction of swelling and edema.
